So. The Fault In Our Stars. A very good book. But there’s something and i cannot explain it, that annoys me. It’s clearly written for this generation of people not wanting to go outside and so on. And that is great since one can relate. However i found the language a bit too simple. I did not like the fact that Green wrote “Or whatever” repeatedly in the descriptive text because of Hazels knowledge for literature and the English language. However I find it okay in the conversational part. And i must say that I am not a fan of CAPS LOCK, I believe that such scenarios should be described with a careful choice of adjectives.
And of course I am no one to judge since my capability of writing such a story is very limited and my words mean nothing compared to this great story. However I must admit that just these tiny things described above didn’t make me feel as much for the story as I otherwise would.
I do understand what he wanted to accomplish by writing the story this way, it’s just me not being used to it.
All in all: Great story, and great book, John Green.
